about

And the road goes on...

After releasing Eureka’s first concept album “Shackleton’s Voyage” in 2009 I was intrigued by the idea of returning to a musical area that I had abandoned for a long time since the younger days of my life as a musician.
I wanted to do a prog rock album and I wanted to do it fast!
You guess the punchline - it turned out taking as long as always, because life is what happens while you’re making plans, right?

Despite the less glamorous activities of a contemporary musician's life, years of court procedures to fight for regular contact with my beloved son also prevented me from, let’s say - doing it too fast!
But what doesn’t kill you... exactly! I’m an artist and we have the helpful affectation to compensate life’s triumphs and tragedies into songs or whatever. So I wrote “Stolen Child” to express the insanity of being alienated from one’s only child - my contribution to help gain awareness for the Parental-Alienation-Syndrome (PAS).

Although “Great Escapes” is not a concept album in its classical meaning, most of the lyrics revolve around a main topic.
“Great Escapes” is about the aspiration to find ways out of the dead ends in life! To find the vibrancy in life that makes the difference between life and existence.
It’s about our desire to escape from the gravity that everyday life holds in store. Step out and make the most of it - life is too short!

Enjoy your great escapes!
